Economic Crisis Shifts Mexican View South

Recent activity by the Calderón administration indicates that Mexico may be attempting to move away from its large dependence on trade with the United States through promoting relations with fellow Latin American states. Mexico has suffered a major recession due to the global economic collapse and the retraction of the American market.

CIGI'09: Towards a Global New Deal

On October 2-4, 2009, CIGI will host its annual conference in Waterloo, Ontario. CIGI'09 will examine the systemic impacts of the global economic crisis and the implications for international economic governance. Keynote speakers include Paul Krugman, Jagdish Bhagwati, The Right Honourable Paul Martin and Roberto Mangabeira Unger. The conference will address two broad themes.
