Network on North American Studies in Canada

The Network on North American Studies in Canada (NNASC) is a new initiative of the Foundation for Educational Exchange between Canada and the United States of America, in partnership with leading Canadian universities, government agencies, think tanks, and civil society. It is a unique private sector-public sector partnership which connects leading-edge researchers from universities and think tanks across North America with key policy makers, practitioners, and other consumers of knowledge and information. The network is committed to the promotion of transdisciplinary and multi-disciplinary research, to supporting and identifying the next generation of scholars, to promoting the interests and the output of the research community in Canada, to playing a key role as inter-locutor between the producers of specialized research and the potential consumers of that research. The network addresses all aspects of scholarly research, along with the relevant policy implications, that matter to the citizens of North America.

The Network on North American Studies, together with CIGI, officially launched the NNASC North American Experts Directory in March, 2008. A collaborative effort hosted by the Portal for North America, this first-of-its kind list featuring all North American experts from a variety of disciplines and institutions in Canada is searchable in a number of ways, including by key word, research interest, name, geographic locationg, etc.
