Building North America in the Classroom

February 1, 2010

To build a better understanding of what is happening in North America in the classroom, our newest Teaching Modules highlight ongoing and emerging issues in the North American context:

  • Freight Transportation Infrastructure Policies
Case Study: Stephen Blank, Graham Parsons, Juan Carlos Villa (North American Transportation Competitiveness Research Council Working Paper #5, March 2008)
    Teaching Note: James McNiven

PNA's growing collection of Teaching Resources are designed for instructors to encourage greater inclusion of North American content into courses in a variety of disciplines and fields at the university level. The teaching resources have two parts: a teaching module, built around an original case study or materials from a PNA Content Partner and a teaching note which highlights the main themes of the piece, offer suggestions for a teaching plan and discussion questions, and provides additional resources from Portal for North America and externally, and allow you to comment on your colleagues' posts.

These are just a few of the features Portal for North America has to offer. As always, we welcome your feedback and suggestions. As you prepare for your fall courses, please take a look and let us know what you think at NorthAmerica@cigionline.org.
